Life uncommon. . .

Don't worry mother, it'll be alright
And don't worry sister, say your prayers and sleep tight
It'll be fine lover of mine
It'll be just fine

Sometimes all we need is to have someone tell us that things will be just fine.
The subtle beginning of the song signals the continual building of the layers to come, particularly with the introduction of the semibreves in the organ.  The musical references I make in this blog post is based on what I hear in the It reminds me of what happens in our life when we first come into the world.  We enter alone, by ourselves (even twins and other multiple births - you come together, but still alone in your own body that contains you own individual soul).  Do you pray when you worry?  Are you able to sleep better after you've said your prayers or if you have inner peace or the kind of peace of mind that comes when you command it?

Lend your voices only to sounds of freedom
No longer lend your strength to that which you wish to be free from
Fill your lives with love and bravery
And you shall lead a life uncommon

We must speak more about what being free really sounds like, rather than give all of our energy to negative things that continue to restrain us, hold us back or threaten our sense of growth that we are entitled to absorb. The guitar lends itself to the rhythm that indicates that we must start to move forward with our lives, that when we can find our truth in what needs to be said, then we shall really start living uncommon lives that go against the grain.  This might mean that we are ahead of our time on many occasions and that's not necessarily a bad thing.  Just choose to sing from the song sheet that gives you the wind to lift you above and out of your situation.

I've heard your anguish
I've heard your hearts cry out
We are tired, we are weary, but we aren't worn out
Set down your chains, until only faith remains
Set down your chains

The drums, organ and bass join the guitar, joining together to set out their chains in this verse.  When you can identify what the obstacles, restraints, constraints, barriers that aim to impede you, to stop you from achieving your true potential, or realising your vision, then you can start to take action.  Your faith must remain at all costs.  Your faith is what will be able to bring you through and deal with what life continues to throw your way.  When the same obstacles cross your path, then this means that you haven't learned the lesson from the previous time.  The biggest disappointment you should feel in yourself, is if you continue to allow people or events to build those chains that you refuse to set down.  It's a disappointment and can cause a crushing blow to your confidence because while you are busy blaming others for what has happened, you discover that you built the chains yourself.  Will you continue to build your own chains that self sabotages you every time?

And lend your voices only to sounds of freedom
No longer lend your strength to that which you wish to be free from
Fill your lives with love and bravery
And you shall lead a life uncommon

The harmony provided by the second vocalist helps us to remember that we will be able to live our lives when we are able to find like minded people who will sing the same song as us.  Do you have people like this in your life?  If you are surrounded by people who are constantly off key or keep changing the song sheet, then it's time to start thinking about what is important in our life and focus on that, not what stops us from being free, or holds us back; including people.  Do you have strategies for how to avoid focusing on the negative things in your life?  It takes a while to be able to master and train your mind to minimise this but once done, it is well worth the journey.

There are plenty of people who pray for peace
But if praying were enough it would have come to be
Let your words enslave no one and the heavens will hush themselves
To hear our voices ring out clear
With sounds of freedom
Sounds of freedom

Prayers are important but must also be accompanied with action.  Aren't prayers just words that we invoke feelings, wishes, dreams and gratitude in?  Do you wait for peace to happen or do you find ways to spread peace?  Find other people, seek other people out whose voices can ring out clear just like yours.  When you go to speak somewhere and people hear you, they might come back and tell you that what you have shared has resonated quite strongly with them.  How does that make you feel?  Do you feel that your words have enslaved them?  Are you fascinated by how what you have said has carried on the winds, climbed into people's ears and made their way down their throats to reach their hearts?  Is this where the expression, to have my throat in my heart comes from?  Because when we hear people who genuinely touch our hearts, we no longer have the ability to articulately express the impact of their words?  Have we all become enslaved?

Come on you unbelievers, move out of the way
There is a new army coming and we are armed with faith
To live, we must give
To live. . .

I hope that you are able to distance yourself from the unbelievers who don't want to learn the message that you are spreading, because they aren't equipped to hear what you have to say, just as they aren't equipped to see what you see, taste what you taste and say what you say.  These unbelievers are limited because their function in your life is to stop you from living your destiny.  I also hope that you are able to distance yourself from people who think they are believers, but actually aren't.  These people are more dangerous than unbelievers.  They either know what they're doing, or have no idea that their unintentional acts are causing you harm.  Protect yourself from those who threaten your purpose.  This is why you were sent here; to teach us all how to live the life uncommon. . .
