Take it to the limit. . .

This blog post is dedicated to those guys who need to trust themselves a little more. . .

As you can tell it's another late night in Aotearoa.  I always find it hard to sleep when my mind is over active and as busy people tend to do during the day, during their normal working day, they are constantly bombarded with extra requests for random things - and the evening presents opportunities to find that balance again to relax, find some respite before completely shutting down to rest weary bones.

All alone at the end of the evening
And the bright lights have faded to blue
I was thinking about a woman who might have
Loved me and I never knew
You know I've always been a dreamer
(spent my life running 'round)
And it's so hard to change
(can't seem to settle down)
But the dreams I've seen lately
Keep on turning out and burning out
And turning out the same

As much as people request random things and wants random bits of advice, there can be as equally random, the thoughts that spill around in your mind.  And what random thoughts are those you might ask?  The whole idea of someone being in love with you and you didn't even know it, well you didn't know for sure, you probably kind of suspected but you didn't confirm it to be sure, to be certain, that it could be anything more than a hunch.  Does this mean that you would go through the rest of your life living in uncertainties and thinking about how you most likely enjoy living in the shadows - dancing in the possibilities and probabilities like how little children go crashing through muddy puddles on a rainy winter's day, gumboots and all.

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

Would you be prepared to travel on a highway, hoping for a sign?
It can be daunting being alone, particularly on a highway where everybody is racing to their destinations, not really worrying too much about their fellow travellers unless an accident happens.  Would you be able to take "it" (whatever "it" is) to the limit?  What are you prepared to take to the limit?  Should we even wait for signs to make anything happen?

You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
Would you still be mine?

And when you're looking for your freedom
(nobody seems to care)
And you can't find the door
(can't find it anywhere)
When there's nothing to believe in
Still you're coming back, you're running back
You're coming back for more

Chasing all of the material things in life, chasing the big dreams and hustling for success is important - but it's hard to get to that pinnacle of your success and not have anyone to share and celebrate those successes with.  Friends, good friends, close friends are good to surround yourself with - but there will come a point when, as the beginning of the song rightly outlines - at the end of a long day hustling, you will find yourself alone.  Are you ok with being alone and having that solitary space on your own?  For some of us - it's as easy as breathing.  For others - it's the most terrifying feeling in the world.

Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit one more time. . .

I hope you take it to the limit.
It's hard to know if you've reached your limits unless you push so hard that something gives.
Even when you feel like you've pushed as far as you can, keep pushing.
That one more time might push you into new limits and new dimensions that you never thought or dreamed you could reach.

I'm a sucker for one more time. . .
