Gimme some truth. . .

I'm sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth . . .

We're now into July.  America is celebrating its Independence Day and election month is looming in Aotearoa (well it's a few months away but the media machine is working overtime, bringing us the latest tidbits about what we can expect, or making predictions about things that might not even be the real things).

I've had enough of needing things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth . . .

I wonder if we are able to handle the truth - whatever that looks like these days.
Is it that we mostly operate on a "need to know" basis and that certain people get to decide or have the power over information that we "need to know" as most of the time is spent on them trying to hide what we "should know".

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of hope
Money for dope
Money for rope . . .

Always search for the truth - the kind of truth that helps to uncover the best things that are needed to benefit all people.  Are we being lied to - or at least being presented the kind of truth that promises only pocketfuls of hope and promises of money for things that will eventually set the pathway to a slow suicide.  The powers that be will say it's not homicide, even though they provided the tools - they will argue that they didn't put the weapons in your hands.

I'm sick to death of seeing things
From tight-lipped, condescending, mamas little chauvinists
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth now . . .
